10 Minute Mutterings

Well, my internet went down so there went yesterdays posts. Weather is wonderful here at the moment and we spent today on a long walk to Mapledurham lock with the kids and Karla. Karla loved being off lead, running around the fields and jumping in the river. Yesterday we had a lovely barbeque and finished it as a picnic by the river.
John's watching the second film of Lord of the Rings, he watched the first yesterday, and Brenna is half watching-half Gameboy. Deklan is playing WOW again, no surprise there! He's on a roleplaying server and is playing as a girl called Catherine.

I'm going to pay for the rest of our holiday today, we're going to Dawlish Warren, in about 11 weeks time. Deklan isn't coming but he's going to have to sort out an alternative soon. We're taking Brenna's friend Chloe instead. That should be good for keeping them amused. We're also taking Karla which could prove to be a nightmare. We're staying in a caravan not far from the beach and also near to the station. I have to sort out lots of ideas for places to go. I need to find places we can take the dog.

Well that wasn't a good start, missing this morning's session, but the kids didn't go to school this morning which means a broken routine for me. I just decided to keep the two of them off, it's the last day before the half term, and Deklan wanted to come in to Reading with me. We went in and got a lot of shopping, I bought new bedding for the main bedroom, just need to decorate it now to match, it looks lovely. Deklan was disappointed that they only offered him £5 trade in for each of his games, and decided to keep his games, and then someone decided to throw themselves on the train track, which delayed all the trains.
I also bought EA Sports Active, it uses the balance board, a leg strap and a resistance band to provide a load of different workouts. I'm going to do the 30 day challenge and started today, I really built up a sweat and that was on easy!
I've just found out that the memberships for the Discworld convention have opened, we shall need to get our soon before the price goes up. Deklan is already asking if I have bought them yet. I've decided not to share with Paul and Deklan next year and give them a room by themselves, and I will be sharing with Kirstine "Christmas Feagle" Heald, that should be a laugh!

This picture is from a recent group shoot I took part in organised by Pampered called Kinky Boots. This is Araminta on the bus. I enjoy working with the models and they seem to like working with me. Must do some more.

Must try harder to get on tomorrow morning.

 

Just seeing if I can add an entry from my ipod touch - handy for when I go on holiday.

I've decided to start this blog and write in it for 10 minutes at a time, hopefully once in the morning and once in the afternoon/evening. I shall be writing whatever comes into my head at the time and also include a picture now and then. I'v enot made this public because for now it's just for me. It's my thoughts about my life and what's happening with me and to me. I shall look back on it in a year and see what has changed. I often start things like this and don't continue them, but I think I can allow myself 10 mins to myself, and it will do me good no doubt.

The sorts of things I may write about will include:
My Photography - I hope to continue to improve and maybe next year I can score higher in the camera club comps, and get a reputation on NetModels for doing a certain style (as has been suggested!)
My Home - I have plans to redecorate, and to take control of this mess. I may try flylady and not rush it this time.
My Weight - got to get this down, I lost 2 stone on WW a few years back and have put it all back on.

I'm not a complicated person, so other than these three I shall probably talk about a days events or something to do with my kids or husband.

As for the photo, it will be something of mine that I feel like posting - I may or may not say why I'm posting it and I may or may not have taken it that day - we shall see.

Today's image is a still life I took recently. He looks kind of cool. I'm learning a bit about "strobist" lighting and was having a play....

John and I are going to the pub this evening for a quick drink, so I better go and feed the dog and clean the kitchen.
